I was just watching TNT pregame and saw that Gilbert was named starting guard for the east. I couldn't believe- I've been checking every week and VC has been beating him by tons of votes each time. It was the closest vote for all-star starter ever- 3010 votes. This is great for Gil and hopefully he will represent in the All-Star Game. Great job Gil.

Correction- it was the 4th closest vote for an all-star starter.

Like Gil said, AI moving to the West really opened up this opportunity for him. All he had to do was catch up with Vince Carter.

If you look at how close the votes were, pretty much every vote made a difference. Between me and my brother, we probably voted about 150 times for Gil, Caron, and Antawn. I'm just still really pumped for Gil. I was just watching PTI yesterday when Gil was on and they asked him if he felt short-changed by not getting voted in as a starter this year (pretty ironic). I can't wait to see Gil dance with Shaq before the game. Good luck Gil.
