Re: 2/28 :: Wizards vs. Heat

No Caron. Gil's continuing his horrible shooting. Down by 7 with 6 mins left in the 3rd. We're lucky to still even be in this game. We desperately need Antawn and Caron back soon if we're going to hold onto the Southeast.

Re: 2/28 :: Wizards vs. Heat

Just got home and we are down by 7. Arenas with just 14 near the end of the 3rd as well as Deshawn.

Did anyone see that pick Shaq set for JWill? Daniels went right into it and feel straight to the ground like a rock thrown against a wall. Looked nasty.

Re: 2/28 :: Wizards vs. Heat

Caron or Antawn need to come back ASAP.

Gil seems like he is trying way too hard to carry the team. Sure, we are missing around 40PPG from Jamison and Butler, but you have to find other ways to win. He has to get his other teammates involved into the game. Without those two, our offense slows down greatly. Half-court offense is going to be seen a lot more which means we need to feed out post more. If Haywood, Thomas, Blatche, Booth, and Songolia can make some shots down low then that will spread out the floor for Arenas, Stevenson, and Hayes to shoot their jumpers.

If we can do those things then I think we can start winning again. But with Eddie Jordan at the helm, you never know what is going to happen.

Re: 2/28 :: Wizards vs. Heat

Quote:
Notes: Gilbertology update: About two hours before tip-off, Arenas was spotted in a concrete basement stairwell underneath the Verizon Center, moving very slowly up the stairs. He looked more like a patient recovering from hip surgery than a professional athlete as he put his right foot on the next step, then carefully placed his left foot next to his right. "Hey, you all right?'' Arenas was asked. "Yeah, I'm OK,'' he replied. "Ritual.''
Don't know who the source is but this quote is from NBA.com. If this is true than hes playing hurt (not injured) but hurt enough that it could be effecting his game.

Maybe it's just one of those odd things Gilbert does?

Roger Mason had a decent game. If Arenas is not 100%, they should consider resting him.

You're right, Mason has really stepped up while Caron has been out and has contributed nicely. It's nice to know he can put up double digits for us off the bench.

Hes definately not 100%, maybe around 80-85% (shoulder). He definately needs time off (weeks) to get back near 100%. Unfortunately Wizards can't afford to give him that kind of time off, even with him struggling right now.

He said it's a ritual. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with his health, just the way he enters the arena.
