Etan Thomas, Bobby Simmons, Christian Laetner

What do you think these guys roles on the team will be next year?

Etan Thomas is like a hidden gem that the Wizards have failed to cash in on. Injuries haven't helped, but in my mind, this guy is going to be a solid rebounder, and he's a perfect compliment to Kwame's game. If Carlise comes in, than I wouldn't mind Etan playing the Ben Wallace role and crashing the boards.

Christian Laetner, if not traded, will probably be a back up, but how many minutes should he get? 33 years old, but the guy is really in his prime. If fans didn't notice this year, the guy has developed the most consistent mid range jump shot on the team. He's a perfect compliment to Stackhouse's game, as Stack can drive to the hoop and dish it out to the him for the money shot. I know we wanna play the young guys, but Laetner should not be ignored, he's got 5 years of consistent shots left in him, and he gives the kind of veteran leadership that guys like Kwame needs.

Will Bobby Simmons be resigned? I wouldn't think so because he was Jordans boy. Still, I don't want this team to lose T Lou and Bobby Simmons, because they were probably the hardest workers, and willing to scrap. Bobby plays the game as if he's playing a playoff game every game, and he has the work ethic this team needs. I know Stack will probably hog up the minutes, but Simmons is really an ideal back up small foward, and also compliments Stack's game with a nice perimeter game.

What do you think the roles of these guys should be? And also notice that this team can be a good mid range shooting team next year with Laetner, Simmons, Barbosa, and Hughes.

I like these three guys. I liked when Collins used Laettner at Center, giving us 5 guys who could run pass and shoot. Jahidi and Brendan don't have those skills. Etan's rebounding ability is great. We needed rebounders last season and had he not busted his eye socket he would've helped. During the end of the 01-02 season, Etan was grabbing 10 per. And at the end of the 02-03 year, Simmons really flourished in his minutes. I think these guys should remain with the team, because they are competent backups and don't cause trouble.

However, any of the three could be moved for a long distance shooter, which we severly lacked last year. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head, but if we could acquire a veteran long range bomber, I'd be OK will letting one of these three be traded.

How about a young longrange bomber that can play both small forward and power forward. Vladmir Radmanovic has been rumoured to be had at the right price. He probably has more upside than Thomas as well. With Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, and Brent Barry Seattle needs bangers more than three point shooters in the west to try and play with the big boys out there.
