4/13:: Wizards @ Hawks

7:30 on CSN

Preview

Quote:
Washington (39-39) managed to clinch a playoff spot earlier in the week, but the Wizards have been devastated by injuries. They had already lost leading scorer Gilbert Arenas to a torn meniscus, and after third-leading scorer Caron Butler went down with a fractured hand April 1, dropped six straight for their longest slide since a seven-game losing streak from March 5-16, 2004.

Neither player is expected to return unless Washington advances deep into the playoffs.

"We're playing with a fairly new team and we're building something from almost the foundation," coach Eddie Jordan said after a 85-82 defeat to Miami on Wednesday. "We have to be patient with it, but at the same time, we are correcting our mistakes."

Re: 4/13:: Wizards @ Hawks

The losing streak is finally over. We really needed this one. There's no way we should lose to the Hawks without Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, and Zaza. That scared the crap out of me though when AD went down hard. That looked painful. It was a relief to see him come back and put in some more minutes.

That fall was nasty. I wouldn't of called a fragrant since it was more of AD just driving to the basket at a weird angle rather than Jones fouling him hard. I was just thinking to myself after that happened, what if AD was out for the playoffs also? Would we be the worst playoff team ever with no doubt whatsoever?

Feels good to win again, albeit it's against the injury-ridden Hawks.
