Re: Haywood to be traded?
Since there are very few quality big men in the league, someone may want to acquire Haywood. He is a legit 7 footer who can play good to great defense. However, his effort from game to game is inconsistent. He is often outhustled for rebounds by smaller opponents. But some coach is bound to think that they can do a better job of using Haywood than Eddie Jordan has done.

Re: Haywood to be traded?
Plenty of teams could use Haywood. The Wizards won't get much in return for him, but at this point he's got to get out of DC to get his brain working again.
I could envision interest from Toronto, Memphis (if they don't land Oden), Minnesota, or Boston. Heck, Dumars and Saunders might even decide they can straighten him out in Detroit.
He's a big body who can play decent defense, score when left alone under the basket, and grab rebounds that come near him. Unless he completely wigs out, he'll still have a job. My guess is that he ends up as a backup for a team that's weak in the middle, and flirts with almost earning the starting job but doesn't quite make it happen.

Re: Haywood to be traded?
I would try to work something like...
Washington send Etan Thomas to Sacramento; Send Haywood and a resigned Hayes to Detroit;
Detroit send Nazr Mohammed to Sacramento and Carlos Delfino to Washington;
Sacramento send Brad Miller and a resigned Potapenko (to fit salaries) to Washington;
Brad Miller is a better C than Etan or Haywood. Won't have much trouble in East, and if Wiz can trade Jamison for someone like Kirilenko (or even Odom if he is included in a JO deal and refuses to play for Indiana), this team would have a good improvement.

I'd love to take Trenton, he would immediately be the best defender on the team. Plus it would cover the possible loss of Deshawn or Jarvis. Please ask Mchale to get this done. I would greatly enjoy it.

Re: Haywood to be traded?
I'd be down for a Hassell/ Haywood swap as well!

Re: Haywood to be traded?
I'd prefer not to get another guard/short forward. I like what we have coming off the bench in Hayes, and Daniels. Our inside players are definitely horrific, all of them: Booth, Ruffin, Haywood, Thomas, Blatche, and Songaila. That is probably one of the worst frontcourts in the league. You never know what you're going to get from Haywood and Thomas, and whenever they commit to posting up, they never pass it out when in trouble. Instead, they throw up wild/blind shots. Ruffin, obviously gives us no production, just hustle moments. I don't even know if this guy can dribble the ball from what we've seen. He is no Dennis Rodman, and honestly, I see no reason to keep him except for morale and experience.
Songaila, Booth, and Blatche are decent shooters, but they lack the power/ability to finish. Every time they attempt to do something go towards the basket, they always seem to get blocked or they miss. We need someone who can anchor the position and give us a consistent effort. Haywood was probably the closest to that over these past three years, but I say we trade away Haywood for picks. We can't keep him around if he's going to be demanding trades. Then we nab someone in the draft. If we can, I say we look to trading up in the 2nd round to get Kyle Visser from Wake Forest. From what I've seen, he's just a notch below Tyler Hansborough and he would be another guy we could try out in our big man carousel.

Stop getting down on the front court. Haywood should be gone soon if not by the end of the week. Etan blows and that's never gonna change. But when Songaila was in the playoffs last year and healthy, he was the definition of solid. I pray we can re-sign Blatche at a decent price, and Booth will be the same consistent player he has always been. In addition, we have the draft coming up, and quite possibly could get last year's pick, Pecherov, to come help the team this season. I know we don't have a superstar down low, but it really isn't as bad as many make it seem.
