Arenas elected to All-NBA Second Team
Quote:
The National Basketball Association announced today that Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas has been named to the 2006-07 All-NBA Second Team. After being named to the All-NBA Third Team following the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons, this marks his third consecutive All-NBA honor, and his first selection to the Second Team.
Arenas has now joined Elvin Hayes (1972-73 through 1976-77) as the only two players in franchise history to be named to the All-NBA team in three consecutive seasons.

Gil makes his first All-NBA Second Team selection! He definitely deserved it this year. If he didn't get injured in the beginning of the new year along with his team having more success, he might of made the First Team.
Anyways, congrats Gil!

If the Wizards had a significantly better record than the Lakers, then he probably would have gotten 1st team honors. Either way, it is good to know that the media recognized his accomplishments. Hopefully, he'll crack the all nba first team within the next few years.

If the Wiz would of won their division with Gil healthy, then I agree he would of got First Team.

Fist off congrats to Gil, but IMO even if Wizards had won 50 games and won the division theres no way he would've gotten 1st team over Nash or Kobe.

Kobe would have been. If the Wizards finished with a significantly better record than the Lakers(42-40), let's say 50 wins, while Arenas remained healthy. But as things stand, Kobe deserves the first team honors, it is not like the Lakers did not suffer their share of injuries.

Did he say that he's gonna work to be First Team? Gil delivers when he was with GS he said that he's gonna be all star.
