The Wizards and Trail Blazers met up twice last year with Portland prevailing in both occassions. In the off-season Portland traded away power forward Zach Randolph to the New York Knicks, in return Portland received Channing Frye and Steve Francis who they eventually released. The other major move for the Blazers in the off-season will not pay dividends this year, as with the first pick in the NBA draft Portland took Center Greg Oden who is sitting out this year following microfracture surgery on his knee. In the draft the Blazers also selected Duke's Josh McRoberts and two time national champion Taurean Green out of the University of Florida.

Oleksiy Pecherov (F/C Wizards)
Etan Thomas (C, Wizards)
Josh McRoberts (F, Blazers)
Greg Oden (C, Blazers)
Darius Miles (F, Blazers)

Day-to-Day

James Jones (F, Blazers)

Re: 11/17 :: Wizards vs. Blazers

Wounder if Miles is really injured, or hes just not going to play for Portland anymore? I don't know what to think about this game, they haven't played well against the Blazers the last couple of years, I say they struggle again and eek out a 3 point win.

Edit: Gil out tonight, Knee

Very nice win. Antawn seems to always step up when Gil's out. Young also had an impressive third quarter. Another double-double for Haywood too was nice to see. Hopefully the Wiz can get to .500 against Philly on Tuesday.

Nice win. It's good that Gilbert got some rest.
