Etan Thomas returning soon????

The Return Of Etan Thomas: As you'll probably see in Mike Moreau's latest piece on the main page of the site, Washington Wizards center Etan Thomas has been in Bradenton at the IMG Academy working out in advance of a return to basketball. In October, Etan was diagnosed with a leak of the aortic valve. He had successful heart surgery to fix the issue, and was granted his clearance for "full contact" work last week. NBA veteran Tony Massenburg worked out with Etan virtually every day, under the watchful eye of Mike Moreau and his staff as well as Wizards' strength and conditioning personnel. Etan is expected to rejoin the team soon, but as you can imagine still has some work to do on his conditioning.

If this is true its great news for Etan to get his health back. Its going to be intresting how EJ uses him in the lineup.
edit: can a mod fix the title, I mispelled returning. thanks

Re: Etan Thomas eturning soon????
Wow- that was quick. I wonder how Eddie's gonna use him- it seems like lately he's only been playing Brendan in the 1st and barely putting him in after that. Blatche has been getting the rest of the time with Songaila- maybe EJ will cut down on some of their time.

That would be great if he wants to play again. I hope he does what's best for him.
I actually thought the title was a pun on his name, Etan Eturning? lol

January 19
"Hopefully, I can join my team soon and be able to go through noncontact and then after a little while, go through contact," said Thomas, who recently trained at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. "It just depends on the doctors. I'm a little bit more anxious than they are I guess. They're being a little bit more cautious and that's understandable but I'm ready. I feel ready."

Re: Etan Thomas eturning soon????
I hope he make sit back for you guys....I like Etan. Big banger and wide body.
Washington is a great story this year in a weak Eastern Conference. I thought this year was the year we closed the gap on the West, but with Chicago and Miami sucking so bad it has hurt the East.

The Wizards would benefit from any of their injured players coming back. They're playing with a lot of guts right now, but you wonder how long that's going to last.
The good thing this year is that heading into the playoffs they'll experience addition in comparision to the subtraction of Arenas and Butler last year.

Re: Etan Thomas returning soon????
I'd rather not see Etan back this year. He would do more harm with the chemistry of the team than help, he would affect Haywoods minutes. I say Wizards roll with what they got and finish out the season. If Arenas is not 100% healthy let him set too.

I don't think Etan is a player who breaks up chemistry on a team. He's a good help defender and rebounder, every team needs that.

Re: Etan Thomas returning soon????
Wiz should've traded him at the trade deadline to Minnesota for Madsen and Buckner (useful defensive veterans who could help this shorthanded team)
