Wizards Team Report
Getting Inside
Gilbert Arenas returned to practice with the Wizards this week but there is still no projected date as to when Arenas, out since November following knee surgery, will return to the lineup.
“There is no timeline for his return or for Caron Butler’s,” Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said. “That’s all I know for now.”
While the Wizards have given Arenas clearance, it appears that Arenas is very apprehensive about returning to the court and is no doubt concerned about the coming summer, when he will be a free agent hoping to ink a huge contract.
Magic 122, Wizards 92: The Wizards followed up a good home victory over New Orleans with an absolutely embarrassing performance against their division rival.
With the Wizards missing shots right at the basket in the first quarter the Magic jumped out to a 34-20 lead going into the second quarter of a game in which they never trailed.
“In the first quarter we gave up seven lay-ups. We got the ball in the post, but I thought that offensively we couldn’t convert. We didn’t get any breaks and they outscored us 34-20 in the quarter, and they pretty much had their way from there,” Wizards coach Eddie Jordan said. “We backed off. We are at home, we are playing the best team in the division, one of the best teams in the league, against one of the best big men in the league, and I really thought that we would compete at a higher level and we didn’t.”
Antawn Jamison led the Wizards with 19 points and DeShawn Stevenson added 17 for the Wizards, who converted just 42.7 percent of their field goals.
Notes, Quotes
• The Wizards last lost by 30 points or more at home on April 15, 2007 when Chicago crushed them, 101-68.
• The Wizards made the shift to Darius Songaila as the starter at small forward in place of Andray Blatche four games ago, and they are going to stick with that change until Caron Butler is healthy enough to return. Butler is out with a labral tear in his left hip.
• G DeShawn Stevenson has shown incredible improvement from behind the three-point line this season. Stevenson played six full seasons before joining the Wizards in 2006, and during that time he was 53-for-202 (.262) from behind the three-point line. Last season, his first in Washington, Stevenson was 74-for-183 (.404). This season he is make even more three-pointers. He was 104-for-283 (.367) from long range going into Wednesday’s game with Orlando.
Quote To Note: “Nothing, that’s what we were tonight.”—Wizards F Antawn Jamison following the team’s 30-point home loss against Orlando.

Bosh or no Bosh, if they play defense like they did last night it will be another blowout. They made Bogans and Mo Evans look like Turk and Lewis, disgusting. Just counting the days for Caron to return.

Looks like Gilbert will be returning before he will. Which is totally fine with me.
Let's hope the guys come out with some fire after that dismal Magic game.

Wizards win in OT. Can't say I watched the game but it's nice for the team to come up with another win without Arenas and Butler.

Re: 3/07 :: Wizards @ Toronto :: 7:00pm
I watched it, if they just simply had cut down the ridiculously amount of turnovers they wouldn't have needed OT. Overall it was a good game, but watching them make stupid turnovers after another drove me crazy and alot of it was unforced just mental mistakes, mistakes that almost cost them the game.
