3/17: Hawks @ Wizards

TV: CSN, FSN South
Quote:
The Atlanta Hawks should be grateful Gilbert Arenas is expected to wait a bit longer before making his return to the Washington Wizards’ lineup.
While they likely won’t have to deal with one of the NBA’s top stars, the Hawks look to win their third straight game and remain in playoff position when they visit the surging Wizards on Monday night.
With a 109-98 win at New York on Sunday, Atlanta (28-38) has won two straight after losing six of its previous seven contests. It also moved into a tie with New Jersey for the eighth and final playoff spot in the weak Eastern Conference.
The Hawks, who haven’t made the playoffs since 1998-99, close out their three-game road trip against New Jersey on Wednesday. Before looking ahead to that matchup, Atlanta will try to even the season series with Washington (33-32) when the teams meet for the final time in 2007-08.

Re: 3/17: Hawks @ Wizards
I caught the second half...a pretty bad effort from the Wiz.
They got torched by the longrange game, and Johnson pretty much neutralized Butler's scoring. Not to mention they got beat on the boards..they looked really small.

Yeah I was wondering what the hell Songaila was doing out there so long.
He had a few nice drives that rimmed out, but he was inneffective otherwise.
I'm upset Blatche didn't get any time out there, he would've been a mismatch for Horford offensively.

This is just another example of bad coaching by Eddie Jordan. It's one of those games you watch and believe that if the right people were in at the right times, it would have been a better game.
Is it possible to write a letter to Abe Pollin convincing him why you would be a better coach for the Wizards?

Re: 3/17: Hawks @ Wizards
Washington didn't come out with the same sense urgency that the Hawks did. The Wizards didn't a good job of moving the ball around either. Plus when Daniels is out there and not making plays, he's a liability because he can't hit the three. The Wizards defense let them down last night as well. Hopefully, they put forth a better effort against a tough Magic team.

(not disagreeing with you but...)
when daniels is on the bench we dont have anyone else that can get other players involved. We dont have 1 team, we have 5 players playing one on one

Exactly, that's why Daniels is so valuable. He's not a good shooter, but he'll get to the basket and he'll find plays.

True but its not like Daniels is lighting up the assist totals either and we get outplayed at the PG position every game whether Daniels is in the game or not but im not going to blame Daniels hes playing hurt and doing his best. They just don't have a PG now that can consistantly penetrate to the basket and or drive and kick it out to an open shooter. Just a bunch of dribbling around and running out the shot clock.
