Re: Wizards Summer League Thread

Interesting game last night. Summer league is so wild and hectic toomany turnovers and 1on1 play. No real offensive sets. Nothing.

But my evaluation is as follows

Dee Brown- I really don't see him making the team if someone else steps up, he's just an erratic jitterbug type, he wasn't shooting or creating much of anything he was just dribbling. He might get cut udring camp.

Mcgee- he played very wild seemed really nervous early, but he has some touch from outside and has some post moves with his back to the basket, he has to settle down and actually attack the boards and stop runing out on the break but he's very athletic, its gonna take him 2 years but he could be a huge asset he could become a star in time with added strength.

Nick Young and Blatche- played like vets, attacked often.

Elegar- stood out with his agressiveness, very nice hands catching the ball in traffic ran the floor hard, finished in traffic he's worth a camp look.

Wallace- I thought ran the best pg in limited minutes, he was under control threw some good passes and hit a contested jumper another guy worth bringing to camp. His calm demeanor and reliable personality could fit in better than Dee Brown. Reminds me of Chris Whitney.

On the Portland side- Bayless is amazingly quick off the dribble alhtough he was being guarded by 2's all night but he's the mostb selfish player I've seen in quite a while, he acts like he's the only player on the floor. Was not impressed with him at all.

Philly frontcourt dominated, but McGuire reminds me of a raw Josh Howard, could be the # & the headband but the jumper is identical.

If Dominic McGuire adds a consistent jumper, he will get some playing time.

Young struggled shooting from the field and he should have attacked the basket more. I'm interested to see how responds for what's a poor performance for him. Andray Blatche played well early on but definetely had less energy when it came down to the 4th quarter. I wonder if he will improve upon his conditioning this year.

Re: Wizards Summer League Thread

Blatche dissapoints me to no end. He'll show flashes with a nice finish to the basket, then he'll just drift into going through the motions.

Re: Wizards Summer League Thread

Just a brief recap. Blatche played well in summer league. McGuire showed a decent mid-range jumper. Nick Young played the worst out of the young Big 3; his jumper wasn't falling and he had trouble getting to the basket. McGee showed flashes but is most likely a project and won't contribute much this offseason. Dee brown bhad more assists than turnovers; I'm wondering if the Wizards are still going to keep him since his contract is only partially guaranteed.
