Bobby Simmons?
http://www.nba.com/pistons/news/Requ...-53783-50.html
He was waived by the Pistons. Anyone think he has a shot of coming back to the Wizards. I, for some reason, don't think so. I think he might use this opportunity to sign somewhere else. If you look at the Wizards roster, there really is no room, or need for him. He might be invited to camp, for the off chance that if MJ gets a significant injury in camp, they would sign Simmons.

I think he'll re-sign with the Wizards before training camp, and I think he'll make the team. I think Varda and Cardinal will be gone, making Simmons the 15th player.

I don't think he comes back either.
We're already short a roster spot, and we seem to be set at the wing positions with MJ, Stack, Russell, Jeffries, and Grizzard.
Kev,
you don't think Varda gets a fair shot? He's got size and youth... and that seems to be enough in this league.

I think the Simmons situation is very similar to the Laron Profit situation last year once we traded him he was cut and there were rumblings about him returning that didn't pan out I don't think Simmons will be coming back either, and actually I've talked to some people about Varda and I was told that he'll get a shot to make the team and that he can play a little bit. I also received word that Cardinal will be released though ,By the way 2 GOOD ARTICLES IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPERS 1 IN THE POST 1 IN THE TIMES ABOUT JORDAN HIS PLANS AND HIS TIMETABLES. A LITTLE MORE INFO THAN yesterday's article.

I think Varda will get a fair tryout for the team. With Jahidi out, I know the Wizards might want to keep some size. I'm just saying that Simmons might be better than some people think. He did well at Pete Newell's camp, and I know that MJ likes Simmons quite a bit. We'll see what happens. I think that if MJ brings Simmons back for training camp, that Simmons will end up making the team. I'm not sure whether the Wiz will unload Varda or one of the guards.

It would be nice to get a 2 for 1 type deal done that not only gives us something better than we have but also frees room to resign Simmons.
Best case scenario would be moving one of the PGs and clearing Laettneresque capspace for a young player, or expiring contract.
Will it happen? Lets wait and see what type of PG injuries crop up during camps.

Yes...
I think laettner's contract needs to go... we've already dumped hubert davis's contract... now its laettner's...
and we also have to get rid of either lue or whitney. Datz why i wanted to trade one of them to get Bryan russell instead of signing. Then we wouldn't have to worry about this roster space stuff...
And i doubt we'll have 4 pgs oon the active roster...
and if we did... it would be demorlizing to Dixon if he sat on the bench behind two guyz...
and it would also be demorlizing to Dixon if he wuz on the IR... since he would be going from the top of the world to nothing!
So go wiz!

He has and there is a roster crunch if I ever saw one. I am not sure he has what it is going to take to get a roster spot. The Wizards just do not need any more 2/3's.
Lets see how this shakes out.
