Haywood

I get the impression that the Wizards are not too pleased with Haywood so far. Collins has specifically mentioned the lack of rebounding on several occassions. Hopefully Haywood pulls it together.

Well, Haywood is getting the starting job, so he can't be doing too bad. Doug has said that rebounding is a problem for the whole team, not Haywood alone. Brendan was already quite productive on both ends of the floor last year even with injuries, so I expect him to step it up as soon as Thursday. I even have the guy on one of my fantasy basketball teams.

He actually did single out Haywood in one of the Audio pieces. He misunderstood a question and went on to say how Haywood has to get better at rebounding.

I also heard Scott Jackson discussing it today as well on WTEM.

I also heard Ewing mention this in the interview on Haywood. From what i saw from himlast year, I agree. At times, stronger players would push him under the basket while he was trying to box out. Other times, he just didn't get off the floor quick enough.

I'm not sure if Collins is actually "upset" or that Haywood is in the doghouse. In the interview, he mentioned how Haywood could be one of the most dominating defensive players in the league.

Maybe Jahidi is more important to us than some of us think. He and Haywood seemed to balance out their weak spots last season.

I've been worried about Brendan he seems to watch to much when it comes to rebounding he doesn't get himself into position as much as he should, Varda I think will make the team and may help there, they had a scrimage tonight and the guys from comcast said Jeffries and Dixon were impressive Collins even said accordding to comcast that Jeffries may be used even more at the 4 spot, he and Kwame could probably platoon that spot while Etan when he comes back could do the same with Brendan at center, I don't trust Brendan's durability and am starting to question Etan's. Etan I think is probably going to be our most consistent rebounder, when he gets healthy.
