Preseason: Phi@Was (Post Game)

Good effort tonight it seems. I listened on the radio. Sixers were without DC and KVH.

Many Wizards did not play including Jordan, Grizzard, Whitney, Etan, and Varda, as well as White.

Quick thoughts looking at the box:

Kwame played well with 20/5 and 2 blocks in 27 minutes. His aggression was nice!

Stackhouse had a lot of turnovers. This should dip when he becomes more familiar. The 6 assists led the team, which is nice to see.

27-41 at the Free Throw line is not going to cut it. This would have been a much larger victory if we could hit free throws.

Hughes had 13pts 5rebs 3asts 3 stls. I expect this to be atypical (shooting 5-6, not the stats) of Hughes this season.

Dixon took 15 shots, the most on the team, in 27 minutes. This number is going to have to come down if he wants to play with Stack and MJ.

I could only listen to a little. Looks good on the offensive side. How did JJ sound like he played? From the box it looked like he had a tough shooting night.

I'm wondering whether Juan's shots are coming in the flow of the offense or is he jacking them up Iverson style. He also had four fouls.

I like the way Stack gets to the line.

From listening it sounded as if Jeffries just had a tough shooting night but was doing a lot of other things.

Actually get used to the T.O. if you look at his past numbers they have always been a problem for him. Its good to see him have 6 assists though.

I understand he has a lot of turnovers relative to the average but 7 TOs is a bit extreme.

I was at the game and just got home quick thoughts

Kwame has really improved knows where to be Defensively ,plays under control only blocked 2 shots but changed about 3 others ,he was aggressive offensively , The Kid is starting to become a player didn't get good rebound numbers basically because the Sixers took alot of perimeter shots, good performance from the kid.

Juan Dixon took alot of shots but played really well ,attacked Iverson on both ends and was a major factor in his ability to use screens and come through screens defensively , WE HAVE A PLAYER IN DIXON

Jefferies looked really hesistant offensively knew where to be just reluctant to pull the trigger, played mostly at the 4 spot, made too many ball handling errors and looked really nervous, but he has potential to be solid.

Hughes ,everybody's down on Hughes but not from what I saw tonight, He ran the team really well especially with Dixon in the game ,he defended well, he penetrated and dished ,he's really going to be an asset with his diverse skills. He even hit some outside jumpers.

Stackhouse looked terrible, way too many forced shots, had trouble playing with continuity with teamates, too many dribble penetration turnovers, Jumper a little erratic, and defensively was roasted by Aaron Mckie, he'll be alright though he's a vet.

Brendan Haywood, he's a little troubling to me ,very lackluster effort, wasn't really a factor blocking shots or defensive rebounding did okay on the offensive glass, helps out on the perimeter guys too much needs to stay closer to the basket.

Lue okay in the first half so so in the 2nd half, he's not a true pg dribbles way too much and didn't get the team in it's offense. Philly trapped in the 2nd half and really shook Lue up with the traps, he struggled in the 2nd half although he shot the ball decently.

Russell made a couple missed a couple rather non descript game.

Overall good effort by the Wiz bright spots Kwame,Hughes and Dixon, Philly's in a world of trouble, they have a very little talent, although Salmons didn't play that bad, expect a long year for philly. Kwame's really maturing not making the mistakes and being more aggressive.

The guys I wanted to play well played alot better than I thought (Hughes and Kwame). They were the big question marks. I'm not saying they've answered them, but they're one step closer. I have alot more respect for Juan after today (not just the game, but the open practice as well).

Stack struggled....ehhh i don't really care. Stack has nothing to prove. I rather he sit his *** on the bench and avoid injuries. I'm kind of disappointed Etan didn't play.
