Laettner
I don't want to come across as a jerk or anything, but I've been wondering this: Does it bother Wizards fans that the veteran "teacher" of the team is generally thought of as a cancer, and universally disliked around the league? That's seemingly the only reason he's around, I conclude after reading your posts (and the stat books), and it seems as if he's probably a negative influence. I basically think Laattner is a horrible influence on your young team, and should be unprotected, traded, or ultimately cut. I'm not a Wiz aficianado or anything, just wanted to get that off my chest.

Laettner is the Rafael Palmiero of the Wizards. He brings that veteran experience and teaches the young ones on the team. He can be big at moments but usually is just brought around to teach the kids. Laettners jumpshot is almost automatic every time I see him shoot. I don't really want to see him stay next season because I think that his salary cap isn't our range and we don't want to take a cap hit.

He's not universally hated... I hear he's given a lot of veteran advice to Damon Stoudamire, Qyntel Woods, Zach Randolph, Lamar Odom, Rasheed Wallace... the list goes on and on

Laettner hated? not at all. he's one of Duke's best players ever and has a very high basketball IQ.
and he looks like Jesus, so how can he be hated?

I've suggested...
Laettner, Arenas and Stack for Francis, Nachbar and Mobley...
is a good trade proposal?

Considering that Arenas is going to be a better version of Francis and will even probably be better than Baron Davis...I say that's a real stupid trade.
