man I don't mind the Number 10 ranking but putting us below Philly is a joke the sixers are going to be terrible this year, but seems pretty accurate other than that, I have been saying all along that we were going to be better than the Pistons and I'm glad someone finally put it in print. I guess they have us ranked fourth in the east based on those rankings, not bad I guess, These last series of games will tell us alot about the rotation we are going to use in the early part of the season so it should be interesting, on the wizards website they have a preseason breakdown by Asst coach Brian James, about his analysis of whats going on.

Looks like we need to wait until this one is over before we see any box scores.

Here is the recap:

GREENSBORO, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Courtney Alexander scored 21 points against his former team as the New Orleans Hornets defeated the Washington Wizards, 99-92, in an exhibition game marked by the absence of each team's stars.

Alexander spent one-plus seasons with Washington but was unable to find playing time behind Michael Jordan and Richard Hamilton. The 6-6 guard was traded to the Hornets for a first-round pick just before the draft.

The Hornets won despite playing without four starters - All-Star guard Baron Davis, forward Jamal Mashburn and big men Elden Campbell and P.J. Brown.

As has been the case throughout the preseason, Jordan did not play. Neither did center Jahidi White, who is injured and will not return until next month.

The game had strong ties to North Carolina, as the Hornets moved from Charlotte after last season and the Wizards boast Tar Heels Jordan, Jerry Stackhouse and Brendan Haywood.

Stackhouse scored 31 points, Larry Hughes added 14 and 2001 top overall pick Kwame Brown 13 for the Wizards. Jared Jefferies and Juan Dixon, Washington's first-round picks in June, each scored five points. Dixon was taken with the pick acquired for Alexander.

David Wesley scored 22 points and Lee Nailon added 12 for the Hornets, who had five players in double figures and pulled away in the fourth quarter.

The game was hosted by the Wizards and played at the Greensboro Coliseum, but a stat crew failed to show up and Washington's staff was forced to score the game by hand. It made for confusing moments in which referee Joe Crawford made several trips to the sideline to explain rules, make sure baskets had been counted and check on timeouts.

ESPN Article

I don't know how much I would trust the box score tonite

Kudos to the stats crew for making it just that much more difficult for me to figure out what's going on.

Very disappointing for a stat crew not to have showed up ,they're probably from the local area mad at the Hornets for leaving, but anyway seems like the starting line-up mentioned by the post seemed to have played well, seems like Stack really attacked Courtney, Alexander might have had his big quarter against some subs, no big deal losing though, I find it interesting that the 2nd unit struggled while Kwame played with the starters, Dixon seems to have tailed off a little . Its frustrating not seeing a box score kinda hard to discuss without knowing the numbers, Kwame seems to be continuing his strong play this preseason.

I think the Times has the better article about this game:
