No thanks. Right now, I like Hughes at point guard alot more than Crawford. Kurt Thomas does nothing for me. The best player in the trade goes to the Bulls...what a surprise.

I like Charlie Ward but I would not call him the best player in the trade

I would say that Kurt would help you more than Etan in the offseason if you are serious about going deep in the playoffs

Experience counts

And you would rather CWhit over Crawford?

Larry and Stack in the backcourt ? Remember Stack and The Answer in Philly ?

Bombs away !

I mean whatever if you prefer the overpaid Larry Hughes to Jamal even though Jamal has by far the better shot ( and don't give me that malaki about Lozza hitting a few 3's in preseason against scrubs ) and it would seem ( at least to me ) that the deference of Jamal would complement Stack better than what Loz would..but as I say whatever... can you really tell me you would prefer CWhit to Jamal ?

Plus you get an extra $4.6M to use next season which is the Knicks injury exception

I can't see how this is not good for the Wiz

We can argue all night about Hughes....right now he is undoubtedly a better basketball player than Crawford. There's no way around that. Etan could be better than Thomas this year. In addition, this move would hurt our cap situation.

And when I said the best player in the trade went to the Bulls, I was refferring to Wally.

Your trade isn't bad...I just don't see why any of the teams involved would do it aside from the Bulls. I certainly don't see how the Wiz get better finacially or on the court.

Fine you like Lozz and figure he is a better fit to run with Jamal

But you still didnt answer the question as to whether you would prefer Jamal over CWhit

And additionally , I believe you only increase your cap by $1.5M which is the difference between Lue and Jamal

CWhit and Etan cover Kurt but you lose Jahidi's off the books and have it replaced with an injury exception that you may or may not use .

Look it another way , Kurt covers Jahidi and CWhit and Lue would have fallen off the key for zip leaving you with cap room to spend which is roughly equivalent to the benefit you get under with the injury exception

Crawford is around a $1M more expensive than Etan in the differential

THerefore it really does not impact your cap situation at all to any meaninful extent

OK, but I still don't see how we get better. Essentially, its E. Thomas for Crawford, and Lue, Whitney, and Jahidi for K. Thomas. Thomas for Crawford....ehhh I'm 50/50 on that one. I wouldn't trade those 3 for Thomas.

I like Thomas as a player (not as a wife slugger), but I think the Wiz would do well not to give up Thomas, Haywood, and Brown.

They've got enough vets in Laettner, sawdust, and White to hold down the fort. While Thomas is better than those three for sure, the idea is to keep the vets around to fall back on while the kids develop. If we trade one of the kids, just to get a marginally better vet I don't think we're making much improvement.

Crawford... well, it makes sense if we trade Lue, I suppose, but between Hughes and Dixon the Wiz already have quite a bit invested at the PG slot.
