Hot and Cold Wizards

http://www.nba.com/wizards/stats/index.html

The link above has the Wiz' pre-season stats.

Here are my impressions so far:

On Fire

K. Brown- Flexing some serious muscle from last year. 15 points, 8 boards, 2 blocks and shooting over .500 from the field. Miles ahead of where he was last year. The only downside I see is his FT%, which is icky.

L. Hughes- Is scoring at will and better yet showing some tough D. Last year the Wiz got victimized by big PGs. This year Hughes is someone we can throw against them and suceed with.

T. Lue- Is making the starting PG race close. He's doing everything well right now. Against smaller, slower guys, he's just as good as Hughes. Providing a solid 3 point shooting threat.

Warm Bodies

J. Stackhouse- Super in everything except shooting % and TOs. I can deal with the shooting if he keeps making it to the line like that though.

M. Jordan- Looks healthier. I'm expecint 20-24 mpg, with Stack at the 3 and MJ at the 2 for good chunks of it.

B. Russell- Has VERY quietly played all-around good basketball.

J. Jeffries- Shows impressive versitility.

E. Thomas- Shook off his injuries and is coming on strong. Good D, good rebounding.

C. Laettner- Solid in limited minutes

B. Haywood- Has looked better and better the more time he gets. With Thomas and Brown, is pulling down boards and blocking shots with authority.

Cool as Cucumbers

J. Dixon- Could be shooting the ball better. Nice effort on D.

C. Oakley- Hasn't been here long enough to know much.

B. Cardinal- Actually looks ok as a bench guy, and has won the praise of coaches, but he sure doesn't have the most natural talent in the world.

Cold as Ice

B. Simmons- Shooting in the .100's from the field doesn't help you make the team.

C. Whitney- Injured and stuck behind two guys that are clearly better and a first round pick who's guaranteed to stick.

R. Varda- Early optimism about this guy is fading. First his hamstring was acting up, then he was sent home because of his back. Can't make the team if you can't play.

J. White- In the deep freeze for another couple of months untill he's healthy.

Good assessment. I have to think Simmons is not going to make this squad with the type of numbers he has been putting up. Varda is a question mark for sure, but his stats almost mirror Simmons' and he hasn't played yet. I would keep the 7 footer over simmons, who will probably be available regardless if we need him at some point during the season.

That's Country strength too you know - no weights and no juice

Looks like his will took a holiday in his outings against New Orleans and Detroit where he was lit and smoked like a cheap news stand cigar

He did beat up Kenny Sattelite and Lo Harrington a couple of times as well as having a lucky bum day against Philly

Sccccccchhhhhhhhhmmmoooooookkkkkiiiiinnnnnn!!!!!!! !!!!!!

Is that why Oak was acquired - to pay Chicken George to TLue in his **** fights with Iverson, Damon Stoudamire , Jason Terry and any other pint sized back court dynamo that I can't think of

Hey **** fighting is a jailable offense in some states - Oak better reign it in on the road

Cardinal should count his blessings just to have a spot

This just in ..... CWhit has had a major favour done for him in being traded to the worst team in the league.. so say the Wizzer faithfull

That's gotta be some big mo'foed deep freeze

http://www.nba.com/wizards/stats/index.html

The link above has the Wiz' season stats.

Here are my updated impressions:

On Fire

(+) M. Jordan- Wants more minutes, and maybe he can play them. In fact, I know he can, as long as he's healthy. Shooting and moving better than last year. Still, no way he gets more than 30 mpg, and please, bro, don't play the 3. Let Jerry or Bryon do it.

Warm Bodies

(-) K. Brown- Has come down from his monstrous first couple of games, and hasn't been consistent, but is our best frontcourt player by far, as well as worlds ahead of where he was last year.

(-) T. Lue- Is still challenging for the starting PG slot. He's doing everything well right now. Against smaller, slower guys, he's just as good as Hughes. Providing a solid 3 point shooting threat.

(=) J. Stackhouse- I was tempted to move him up to "on fire" but for his last couple of games. Yuck. He needs to watch the new Antoine Walker film - "Live by the 3, die by the 3". That's not your game, Jerry. You need to do something else to help break down that zone..

(=) J. Jeffries- Continuing to come along nicely. Hasn't shot that well of late, but is doing everything else very well. Still looks like more of a PF than an SF.

(+) C. Oakley- Actually won a game for us.

Cool as Cucumbers

(-) B. Haywood- Nice rebounding, but tenative and lifeless on offense.

(-) B. Russell- Good D, but not shooting worth a damn. MJ has you headed to the bench.

(-) E. Thomas- Stuck on the bench, unimpressive given where Haywood's at right now.

(-) C. Laettner- MIA. See Etan.

(=) J. Dixon- Solely garbage time right now.

Cold as Ice

(---)L. Hughes- Good D, bad ball movement. Really bad.

(=) B. Cardinal- IL

(=) R. Varda- IL

(=) J. White- Coach's recent pining for him is more an indicator of Haywood's play than Jahidi's ability.

I would move Larry up a spot and Laettner down a spot but other than that I agree.

I'd move Hughes in between warm and cold. He hasn't done anything to make the Wiz lose games, and his defense has been very good so far. His assists numbers would be much higher if someone on the Wizards could shoot.

I cant believe im saying this but I cant wait for Jahidi to come back.
