Lottery Predictions
Okay, so it's completely random and thus more of a guess than a prediction, but just for fun let's see where everyone thinks we'll wind up when the lottery wraps up. It's on ESPN at 8:00 EST tomorrow night, for those that were unaware.
I'll call us picking 5th, with Atlanta being the one team that moves up and bumps us out of the top three. At that spot, we can pretty safely say that Deng and Okafor will be gone, along with Howard and someone who's proven something in college like Childress or Nelson or Harris (Charlotte is said to have lost interest in taking a project, instead wanting a seasoned player).
Who would be left? The guys I see floating around that spot are Livingston, Gordon, Andriuskevicius, Biedrins, and Josh Smith -- in other words, Gordon and a bunch of projects. I really think we explore trading the pick in this situation. I haven't put much thought into trading the pick, but a combination of the fifth pick along with Stackhouse or Hughes could bring us back something pretty decent I'd imagine. I'm not really sure what off the top of my head, but that'd have to be worth something.
Anyways, the point of the thread is just to throw a prediction/guess out there. Feel free to add a lot less chatter to your post than I did.

You know who'd gonna be representing the Wiz at the lottery?
Actually I think Atl. will get bumped up too, probably to 2nd position. Wiz might move up and get the 3rd pick from Bulls though.

I think we're gonna get the 1st or 2nd pick. Back in 2001 I was saying for month's that we were gonna get the number 1 pick. I just knew MJ and the league had a thing going
Last year made sense that Cleveland was gonna get the number 1 pick.
This season makes sense for Atlanta to get the 1st pick .
I just want us to pick either 1st,3nd or 3rd. And we have to pick ahead of the Bulls. Because I want Okafor or Deng. If the Bulls go 2 they're gonna get Deng. if we get 3rd.
To not waffle I bet we're going number 1.

I'd love to get #1 pick, cause finally we'd get some national coverage. Since I moved to Iowa from Silver Springs ( but I'm no Hick) I have to purchase league pass to see their games.

Heh I got the same feeling. There's a "Predict the Top Three" thread on the Draft forum and it's amazing the amount of people that are thinking Atlanta is the team to move up. Maybe the Howard-Atlanta connection is strong enough that a lot of people are hoping he winds up there.

let's hope Etan Thomas represents us so he can write a poem to the ball picker and maybe giving us a couple hundred more balls.
