Biedrins say it ain't so
I have looked at 4 or 5 mocks and they have us pegged with Biedrins. I hate this pick almost as bad as I loath taking Childress. He's the roughhouse fouling type pf with limited size. Good athlete supposedly .
We have to take Livingston if it come down to it. Ernie G's past suggest he'll take the guard even if he has guards already if they're projected to be the best player left. I hope that holds firm.
One sight I saw said that the Wizards liked Biedrins from his work-out. Ernie has been overseas so he's scouted him. I just don't like the kids upside. He's waay more of a pf.
We're gonna get stuck if we make a postional pick rather than best available.
We're not good enough yet to ignore the best available players, we need to stack the talent pool here.
thoughts.

Why do you like Livingston? Just wondering, I don't know much about him. I think Washington should take one of the college guards or Deng, so they can help the team make the playoffs next year.

1. Who said that Wizards liked Biedrins workout? Can you give a link?
2. Biedrins is more a PF.
3. I don't think Wizards draft Biedrins altough it is one possibility.

Better him than Childress... man, I just look at him and don't know how he's gonna be successful.
I'm warming up to Pavel and I'd like to hear we've worked him out. Otherwise I'm happy to wait for Iggy to fall to #5.
I think Chicago's pick is available to trade up for Deng if we want him that badly. At this point I'm content with Iggy, but an ERob or JYD for Stackhouse swap, I think, would guarantee us Iggy if we want him.

I'd be okay with Iggy also. I like Deng but I wouldn't trade up to get him. Because Iggy might be better anyway and giving up a Veteran player to a conference opponent for a player that isn't a sure thing is risky.
The 2 guys I'm scared to pass on is, Pavel and Livingston. I think there's a good chance 1 or both are gonna be really good players. I just feel like adding an Iggy,Childress,Deng or Josh Smith is just adding another wing to the mish mash we already got there with Hughes, Hayes, JJ, Stackhouse.
Not as high on Livingston as I was last week seems like he's scared to enter the draft, why is he still thinking about Duke that means he is really mentally weak but you can't ignore the talent despite his mentality.
I'm cool with Iggy if we move 1 of our other wings Hughes would be my choice I think Stack will reclaim his near allstar status next season.

BCH's current top 5
1. Okafor
2. Deng
3. Howard
4. Iggy
5. Livingston
We will get one of those guys. Iggy would be higher but is he better suited to play the 2? I put Livingston 5th because I read how he has significantly added some weight working out at Hoops the Gym. I am less concerned about his apparent waffling because he travels without the crew. He buses it to Hoops to work out without having an agent, meaning he does everything on his own. This speaks to self motivation, and the fact that he hasn't signed an agent just tells me he is keeping his options open. Whether he moves on to the NBA now or later, it will be there for him. To go to school with your peers is only going to happen this once. I wouldn't blame him for taking the chance of being a college kid, with all that brings rather than head to the NBA right away.
Howard is almost a default 3rd.

it's hard to get hung over any europeans as well as high school players because they have little national exposure. i think that biedrins can play centers if built up to the hype since he is 6-11 and will put on more weight once he is in the nba. the wizards need somebody with some physical force that can bang the paint.
still, i dont think the wizards need to necessarily address it in the draft. if stackhouse is taken from the expansion draft, then we should take iggy. with that money, the wizards could sign someone . okur and martin r free agents; i wouldnt expect rasheed to return to washington.
but i doubt that the bobcats will take stack and i dont think the wiz need a sf that much unless they r planning to move larry hughes and move stackhouse back to the 2.
the wizards need more help offensively and defensively in the post. they r ranked 26th in fg % both offensivel and defensively. they need a more effective low post player to help create easy buckets.
the guards and small forwards r only a major weakness when there were major injuries. the big men to this roster r not deep enuff yet. brendan haywood and etan can be effective complements to kwame but only in minimal ways. and christian laetner and lonnny baxter r not going to get it done either.

christian laettner can easily give you a double-double every night and 2-3 assists.

A double double is a bit generous. He only put up about 11 rebounds per 48 minutes last year, and even if he were a featured member of our team, he'd probably only get in the low 30's for minutes on average.

maybe if we combine our powers we can get it through to everyone that livingston is the way to go in this draft. There is no player who will give us the immediate impact we need so we really should go with livingston and his potential.
in a couple years a backcourt with livingston at the point and arenas at the 2 would be scaaaaary.

My current top five that I'd like to see us draft ...
1. Howard
2. Okafor
3. Deng
4. Livingston
5. Iguodala
No need to go any further than that. Yes, I know Howard and Okafor should be long gone by fifth, but when ranking you should consider every potential prospect. If you want to assume both will be gone, then you really only need to rank three guys.
Barring a trade, no matter what happens on draft day there is a guarantee of at least one of these guys being available to us. I'd be fine with any one of them, though drafting any non-big will almost force us to thin out our smalls unless we're willing to completely bench someone. Iguodala is the only one of the five that I wouldn't exactly be excited to pick up, but even he would still be solid.
