Devon Harris in the Post
The Post mention Devon Harris today as a possibility. I can only cry a little when I read that. If we take Harris over Livingston, I will be "Abe-just-told-Jordan-to-take-a-hike" sad.

Likewise but with the hype surrounding Livingston growing I'm starting to think he won't be on the board at #5.

Well, that's tolerable. What isn't is if Livingston is available and we take a guy like Harris over him.
I don't understand why Harris is even on our radar. Maybe if we had a pick in the 7-8th range then he'd be worth taking a look at, but there's sure to be a better prospect for us at 5th.

I wasn't really impressed with Harris at all. Where the heck could he play with us. I would be very miffed if he was the pick. I feel the same way with Gordon also.
Livingston makes so much sense for us. He could be Arenas's understudy and as he fills out he can step in and play with Gilbert.
Bobcats are the ones who could bump us off by selecting Livingston.
Bobcats are really getting on my nerves it seems like Bernie is trying to screw around with us. He wants us to make a bad trade with him .
Clips I seriously doubt will take Livingston.

the only rationale the wizards draft harris or ben gordon because they only have one true point guard on their team; steve blake and maybe they dont see m in their long term plans.
i would rank harris over gordon because of his added range, 3 point shooting, and point guard skills. plus harris would contribute immediately. jordan maywants to insert a new pg to limit this turnover prone offense. i think gordon is more of a combo guard and a backcourt of him and arenas wouldnt be cohesive.
the problem with that is that it makes a starting backcourt of arenas and harris very small. the reasons to take iguodala and livingson is because of their height. their perimeter game though is questionable at this point of time.
the pros on livingson is his height and his ability to run an offense. the cons for him is he's not that quick yet, his perimeter game is questionable, and he's a project. but the wizards may not need him right away if stack is healthy and blake can carry the backup point.
iguodala has great athletecism, can play the pg, sg, and sf position. he has gone to college for a few years so he will contribute immediately. his shooting is also questionable from the long range.
whatever the case is though, i wouldnt see the wizards drafting harris. i think eventually arenas will mature into a true point. i would see the wizards takingn childress over harris if they want a shooter.
so for the guards and small forwards i would give the following rankings
1) deng
2) iguodala
3) livingston
4) childress
5) harris
6) gordon
livingston could be ranked higher or lower, i have never seen him play.

I just realized, we can get any of these 5 guys we want.
Okafor
Howard
Deng
Iggy
Livingston
Assuming that Okafor goes first to ORL.
Deng goes to LAC
Howard goes to Chi-Town
Linvingston goes to CHA
And we take Iggy.
All works out good.
Stackhouse is going to Charlotte so it should be a tight race between Hayes and Iggy at the SF spot.
I don't want Harris and I never will. When I see him play I see the words Bust written all over him.

I think he worded it a bit wrong. What I assume he means is that there is a 100% guaranteed chance of one of those five being available to us. As I posted in another thread, all we really need to do is rank the top five players we'd like in the entire draft, and by the end of draft night, we'll have have had the opportunity to take one of those five (not counting trades we might make).

I agree with CP26. I'm really of the mind that the Wiz want to trade up for either Childress (NO!) or Deng, but if it were me, I'd be pretty happy to see them stand pat.

You guys already have Childress....
His name is Jared Jefferies.
Also, I'm glad to see you guys have a high regard for Livingston...
I think this kid is going to be a mega star...
