Tornadoes drop another close one

HATTIESBURG, MS--- For the second straight night the North Mississippi Tornadoes were on the losing end of a contest that was decided by just two points, this one in overtime. The Tornadoes once again used a balanced scoring attack to battle their opponents with ten players scoring, five of which were in double figures, but in the end the Mississippi Hardhats came out victorious, 116-114. Former Ole Miss standout Marcus Hicks and former Memphis standout Simplice Njoya led the way for the Tornadoes with sixteen points apiece. Former Northeastern University player Quilninious Randall and former Alcorn State player Ron Jackson also had big nights for the Tornadoes with fourteen apiece. The loss takes the Tornadoes to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in Western Conference play. Also, the Tornadoes were without the services of their captain Jamie Rosser, formerly of Arkansas State, who set out for the second straight night with an Achilles' tendon related injury. Rosser, who is considered day to day, did travel with the team and is probable for tomorrow.

The Tornadoes will play the second game of their three game road trip tomorrow night in Birmingham, AL against another Western Conference foe the Magic City Court Kings, tip off is set for 7 PM.
