WBA re-aligns Divisions for second stage of season

The WBA will have a re-alignment of its team Divisions for the second stage of the 2006 season.

After the removal of the Gainesville Knights and the Magic City Court Kings for the remainder of the 2006 game schedule, WBA League President Leroy McMath and Commissioner Mike Glenn have announced a new two division East-West breakdown. After working with the WBA Executive Rules Committee and Chairman Harold Ellis, the League office feels confident the East-West Division presents the best possible geographical scenario under the current 10-team line-up.

The Divisions, along with current records, are as follows...

East Division...
1. Rome 7-2
2. Cleveland 5-2
3. Cartersville 6-3
4. Marietta 3-4
5. Anderson 0-7

West Division...
1. Mississippi 8-0
2. Druid City 4-3
3. Murfreesboro 4-5
4. Arkansas 3-4
5. South Haven 3-5

Gainesville and Magic City will concentrate on preparations for a return to action in the 2007 season.

The mission of the World Basketball Association is to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to NBA, NBDL, CBA, and International Scouts while providing each community an exciting brand of basketball and entertainment.

The purpose of the WBA is to serve as a training ground to develop professional players, coaches, and personnel on and off the court. Emphasis is placed on fundamental development, career development, community involvement, and education.
