So I started working out...
So a few weeks ago I decided I'm tired of being fat and lazy, so I went out and got a personal trainer. We began on April 7th I believe and I was 179 lbs at 20.3% body fat. We set a goal to get me to 190 lbs @ 10% body fat. I'm going to workout with my trainer 3-4 times a week for about 45 minutes a day, so it's going to take anywhere from 8-12 months. To speed it up, I am on amino acids, creatine, and no2. I'm also on a bit of a diet. 3 protein shakes a day, 2-4 apples and/or banannas, and chipotle twice a day (steak, rice, and cheese).
Well about 13 days later, I am down to 172 lbs because I've lost a lot of body fat. I haven't had it tested again, but I'm guessing it may be as low as 17% now (and that's just in 13 days). My arms are also getting bigger as a result of the creatine and no2. I'm commited to accomplishing my goal and I'll update my progress throughout the next year...not that any of you will care. But once I'm happy with my results, I'll post my before and after pictures just to show that even an average joe like me can get into good shape =).

thats awesome! its really good to see that you seem totally dedicated, the results are gonna blow you away. I've never had an issue with body fat, luckily, but im sure it will catch up with me in time.

Re: So I started working out...
Do you only workout 3-4 days a week? If so, on two of your days off, I'd suggest low-intensity cardio.
After you meet your goals, do you still intend to keep training?

I work out 5 days a week, but only 3-4 with my trainer. The days I don't work out with my trainer are ab work and cardio.
And yes I do intend on still working out once I have met my goals.

The most amazing thing to me is your ability to take 3 protein shakes a day. Those things taste nasty, I couldn't do more than 1 a day. I do, however, eat plenty of nuts and fruit.

It really depends on what flavor you picked. Some are actually pretty good.

That's great. Just make sure you keep at it, I'm sure you can achieve your goals and beyond.
And slightly OT- It's funny to me how some people can totally neglect the benefits of exercising on a regular basis and take every opportunity to bring down an athlete who's truly dedicated to his training... Well, that happened to me.

Three protein shakes a day? Are you sure that's healthy? I know very little about this, but wouldn't that make you feel all bloated and queasy?
