Zags Snag 2009 Forward

Quote:
Normally, Gonzaga head coach Mark Few enters Montana for fishing trips. His pursuit of Brock Osweiler probably yielded his largest catch in state to date. Osweiler, a 6-foot-8 power forward, committed to the Zags this week.
Heard anything about Osweiler?

he is expected to grow to above 6'10" and is a good shooter with potential.

Re: Gonzaga Recruting Update for 2006

Ghost, you seen Poling play? I watched clips today and read some stuff from the Arizona camp. He just looks like a big goof. Fundamentally sound, but he's skinny as a rail. Doesn't look like the type of guy that will pack on much weight either.

He is trying to put on the weight, I have heard comparisions to Tim Duncan because of the way he plays, but I could never see him playing center.

let's not get carried away

Who else is seriously involved with him? I saw several of the Western powerhouses, but firgured they're just on the list cause they're close to home. I know he's only a 2008 prospect, but has he mentioned when he'd like to have a decision made?

I don't think he has a timetable, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, ect.

Re: Gonzaga Recruting Update for 2006

Congrats on Brock. The Missoulian reported that Brock verbaled to Gonzaga about 2 weeks ago. He's the real deal. Best player in the state of Montana and was only a Frosh. Most coaches say he'll be better than Krystkoviak was, and is way better at this stage of his career.

Started at QB for his team in Kalispel for half the season as well.

Brock dropped over 50 points in a game last year against the defending state champions. I was hoping he would either go to Arizona, or stay here in Montana. But I follow Gonzaga hoops too, so I'm pleased.

He played AAU for the Yakima Braves, and I believe I read that he is going to spend the summer in Spokane.

Re: Gonzaga Recruting Update for 2006

I am excited for his future since he is so good right now but he is still only a Freshman, I hope he continues to improve and keeps getting better.
