Really savvy player. Turned in an MVP performance as St. Benedict's captured 2002 Slam Dunk To The Beach title. Has a great feel, makes shots and passes well.

Slam Dunk to the Beach - Player Evaluations
Alex Galindo (6'7" Jr. SF, Newark (NJ) St. Benedict's)
The tournament MVP, he's not the first name that comes to mind on this loaded team, but he's a key role player who stepped up here. The one constant is that he was around the ball very frequently at both ends of the floor, rebounding and getting loose balls. He generally shot the ball well, including from long range, despite struggling in the finale. He has a thin frame and is a good athlete, but he'll need to get stronger.

Alex Galindo is a 6-foot-7, 195-pound small forward from St. Benedict's Prep School in Newark, N.J., who reportedly has been receiving interest from a number of high major programs for the past year. Galindo is a real savvy player, turning in an MVP performance as St. Benedict's captured the 2002 Slam Dunk To The Beach title. He has a great feel, makes shots and passes well. An interesting wing player who can pump in three-pointers when his game is running on four wheels, Galindo averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game last season for St. Benedict's. Galindo, who claims to be "still open," has interest in UConn, Florida International, NC State, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Tennessee, Utah, Texas El Paso, and "all Big East Schools except Syracuse and Georgetown." Recent reports from Las Vegas said that members of the PC staff were on hand to watch Galindo.

Galindo is a multi-talented player that really came on in the spring. The MVP of the Southern Invitational Tournament held in May, Galindo can do a variety of things well: handle the ball in traffic, drive and finish, pass, and shoot the 3. These skills have not gone unnoticed, as Galindo is ranked as the 64th best player in the nation by Rivals.com, 54th by HoopScoop Online, and 44th by HoopMasters.com. Both Rivals.com and TheInsidersHoops.com list him as a four star athlete. Galindo, a native of Puerto Rico, is close w/ Miner assistant Sergio Rouco, also a PR native. In addition to UTEP.
