Revised WAC Predictions

With the season being so unpredictable, I have already thrown away my preseason projections and decided to head right over to my revised predictions.

I will rank the order of the teams and then I will rank how I think the WAC Tournament will go.

We can do this again at the end of the conference season and see how close we were and if the teams who we picked were in the right spot, right before the Conference Tournament.

1. SMU
2. UTEP
3. Nevada
4. Boise State
5. Rice
6. Tulsa
7. Hawaii
8. Louisiana Tech
9. Fresno State
10. San Jose State

First Round
8. Louisiana Tech vs. 9. Fresno State
7. Hawaii vs. 10. San Jose State

Quarterfinals
1. SMU vs. Louisiana Tech/Fresno State winner
4. Boise State vs. 5. Rice
3. Nevada vs. 6. Tulsa
2. UTEP vs. 7. Hawaii

Any thoughts or comments? How do you see the season shaking out?

Nevada has looked okay but I was never that high on them. I think Hopkins may be the league's best player already. I'm not sure how high to get on Boise.

UTEP is still a question mark.

In the Texas Tech game UTEP's defense keep them in the game, but the team was ice cold when it came to shooting. It may have be travel gitters? But this team is special, just watching the team play is a treat, since they are playing with so much heart. Coach Billy G. has turned around UTEP's program, a 50% was all UTEP fans dreamed about before season started and the team seems to be giving more.

My Current WAC Top 10
1. SMU
2. Rice
3. Boise St
4. UTEP
5. Nevada
6. Hawaii
7. Tulsa
8. Fresno St
9. Louisiana Tech
10. San Jose St

UTEP just looks to be playing very well right now. I am not about to bet against them.

Exclamation

Yes, UTEP is playing like a team. They are not selfish and they
do pass the ball around. They don't rely on one guy, so if someone gets an injury it won't affect them as much as some
other teams that rely on one guy to carry them through the
season.
