Daevon Haskins enjoyed a solid freshman campaign at South Plains College in Levelland, Tex. He averaged 11 points, 3.3 rebounds and four assists per game for the Texans in 2002-2003. Following a standout high school career in Baltimore, Md., Haskins attended Notre Dame Academy in 2001-2002. He signed with Rutgers in the fall of 2001, but never enrolled there after failing to qualify academically.
