Tamika Williams re-signs with Lynx
Forward Tamika Williams re-signed with the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday.
Drafted sixth overall out of Connecticut by the Lynx in 2002, Williams is the league's all-time leader in career field-goal shooting at 58.1 percent. She also holds the WNBA single-season record in that category, having shot 66.8 percent in 2003.
Williams, in her third season as an assistant coach at Ohio State, has averaged 8.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 29.2 minutes in 133 career games, all with Minnesota.
"She brings leadership, maturity and professionalism to our franchise," Lynx chief operating officer Roger Griffith said. "It is very important for the development of our young team to have a player with these qualities."
