Storm Weekly Forecast

he Storm are gearing up to participate in the 2006 Puget Sound Race for the Cure and are encouraging fans to join "Stormin' for the Cure," the organization's official race team. Fans can register online at storm.wnba.com to help the Storm set a Komen Foundation record for participation and funds raised. Each $25 registration includes a pink water bottle courtesy of the Storm and Virginia Mason Medical Center - the presenting sponsor of the "Stormin' for a Cure" race team. The 2006 Puget Sound Race for the Cure will be held on Saturday, June 17 at Qwest Field and the Qwest Exhibition Center.



Players and Fans 'Storm the Lake'

Storm fans officially reported to training camp yesterday as the Storm hosted their inaugural "Stormin' the Lake" event at Seattle's Green Lake Park. Hundreds of fans turned out to meet the Storm's new players, learn team cheers and generate excitement heading into the 2006 WNBA season. The event culminated in a 2.8-mile walk around the lake as a tip off to the Storm's Be Smart - Be Fit - Be Yourself program that encourages teens and women of all ages to learn more about their bodies and the importance of physical fitness.



Upcoming Milestones

With the 2006 season set to begin, the Storm and its players are on pace to reach a number of statistical milestones this summer:

- Seattle Storm: Need nine wins to reach 100 in franchise history.

- Wendy Palmer: Needs 63 points to reach 3,000 for her career.

- Lauren Jackson: Needs 147 points to reach 3,000 for her career.

- Betty Lennox: Needs 35 points to reach 2,000 for her career.
