Nykesha Sales walked into the Mohegan Sun Arena Monday morning with a giant smile.
After greeting a few reporters on her way over to say hello to members of the Connecticut Sun coaching staff -- who immediately commented on her newest hairdo -- Sales took a seat and began telling stories about her experience playing professional basketball in the Czech Republic over the last eight months.

</a>Through it all, one thing was clear: Sales is happy to be home.
"It was everything I expected," said Sales, who grew up in Bloomfield, was part of the first national championship team at the University of Connecticut and has played for the Sun for three years. "I didn’t like it that much, but I think for the most part it was cool."
Sales, 29, is entering her eighth season in the WNBA but had never played overseas in the offseason. When the opportunity arose to play on the Gambrinus Sika Brno team under a month-to-month contract, however, Sales figured it was worth a shot.
"Most teams don’t do that, but this team was really eager to have me go over there and just try it out and that’s kind of the only way that I would have went," Sales said. "This team gave me the option to opt out after Christmas, and I tried it, and I guess it turned out for the better."
In fact, when Sales realized the potential of her team, she decided to stay for the entire EuroLeague season. It turned out to be the right decision as she led Brno to the championship, scoring all 16 of her points in the fourth quarter of the title game en route to being named the tournament’s most valuable player.
