NOTES
- The Indiana Fever defeated Whitmore's former team, the Los Angeles Sparks, 89-84, in a preseason game at Conseco Fieldhouse on Thursday.
- The Fever has concluded its preseason with a 2-0 record. Indiana hosts its regular-season opener on Saturday, May 20 (7:00 p.m.), against the Detroit Shock.
- Catchings is scheduled to wave either the start or finish flag for the third consecutive year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, in both 2004 and 2005, her appearances have been washed out by rain.
- Whitmore, a native of Mississippi who has played in the WNBA in both New York and Los Angeles, may well have found her home in Indy. She is a self-proclaimed "car fanatic" who aspires to own a mechanics shop. A hobby of hers is restoration of old cars. She has been in Indianapolis exactly one week since arriving from overseas after playing in France, and is ecstatic at the chance to appear at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
