Elaine Powell hit two free throws with 1.7 seconds left to give the Chicago Sky a 68-67 win over the Seattle Storm Friday night in exhibition play.
Brooke Wyckoff led Chicago (2-0) with 12 points including four from behind the 3-point line. Chelsea Newton added 11 points, and first-round pick Candice Dupree scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds for the Sky.
Wendy Palmer led Seattle (1-1) with 10 points. Lindsay Taylor added nine points, and Sue Bird had six rebounds and four assists for the Storm.
After Palmer hit a free throw to put Seattle up 67-68 with 9.5 seconds remaining in the game, Chicago called timeout.
Powell was then fouled going up for a shot and hit both of her free throws to give the Sky their second-straight win.
Chicago was up by as many as five in the second quarter but couldn't hold the lead as the Storm went on a 7-2 run to close the first half tied at 37-37.
