They went nuts — jumping, screaming, waving their arms, slapping high fives — when Powell forced a desperation shot with just seconds left and was fouled by Tanisha Wright of the Seattle Storm.
Powell’s 2 free throws with 1.7 seconds remaining gave the Chicago a 68-67 exhibition victory over Seattle in front 3,622 maniacal fans at the UIC Pavilion. That’s an increase of about 1,000 from Tuesday’s first-ever Sky game, an exhibition victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.
