When it got to crunch time, the Sky didn't fall. Two free throws by Elaine Powell were the difference.
Powell put up a a desperation shot and was fouled with 1.7 seconds to play. She made them both to lift the Sky to a 68-67 exhibition victory over the Seattle Storm before a crowd of 3,622 that included Bulls guard Ben Gordon on Friday night at the UIC Pavilion.
"We just tried to run our normal out-of-bound play,'' said forward Brooke Wyckoff, who led the Sky with 12 points on four three-pointers. "We wanted to get the ball inside to Candice [Dupree], but they collapsed on her and EP got he foul. It wasn't exactly what we drew up.''
