Sheila Johnson is in her first full season as president of the WNBA's Washington Mystics, and managing partner of the team's Lincoln Holdings ownership group. It's a position of authority few women have attained in professional sports, prompting Washington Wizards President Susan O'Malley to call her ascent "inspirational and phenomenal for the Mystics and WNBA."
Johnson, who took over as CEO of the Mystics last year after Lincoln Holdings bought the team from Abe Pollin, brings a love of sports and an enthusiasm the WNBA needs as it begins its 10th season next week. Lincoln Holdings also owns part of the Wizards and Capitals.
