For Sky players Stacey Lovelace and Jia Perkins, this is no ordinary Sunday.
Both have daughters to give Mother's Day a special meaning.
Lovelace was in Detroit on Thursday to pick up her daughter, Ryann, who will be 3 in August. Lovelace's husband and high school sweetheart, Brian Tolbert, is playing basketball in Israel.
"I guess someday I'll get gifts,'' Lovelace said. "I almost forgot about it, but it has always been a special day since my mother and grandmother have been a big part of my life.''
Perkins' daughter, Aalirah, who turns 2 in June, is with her grandparents in Granbury, Texas.
"It's my second Mother's Day,'' Perkins said. "She'll be here in June, but it will be hard for me to get her away from my parents. It's hard for me to be away. I miss her, and I talk to her every day on the phone. It will be especially hard on Mother's Day.
