Storm forward Wendy Palmer has a story to tell for every stitch on the celebratory orange-and-oatmeal 10th anniversary patch on her WNBA jersey.
You might have forgotten about Palmer. She's not included among the league's 30 nominees for the All-Decade team, although she's one of just seven remaining players from the inaugural season in 1997. Until this summer, Palmer was the only original who had not played all 10 seasons for the same team, spending time on five different rosters.
"If I were going to base my play and my value on people's opinion, I wouldn't have been in the league the first year," Palmer said of her All-Decade snub. "I know that I'm one of the seven that's been here for 10 years and that's enough for me. I am all-decade."
