In a Detroit minute, everything has changed.
By holding off the charging Detroit Shock over the final 60 seconds of an 81-79 victory on Tuesday, the Storm clinched a playoff berth and breathed new life into an often morbid season -- perhaps emotionally launching a new season altogether.
"With the way we're playing, it almost does (feel like a new season)," said coach Anne Donovan. "They've figured out that their injuries can't hold them back. This team is real strong right now."
The Storm (18-14) will rest All-Star Lauren Jackson's ailing shins and left foot. Jackson will not play tonight or Saturday at the Houston Comets.
