LAST NIGHT'S GAME

Sacramento 74, Minnesota 66

The Lynx outscored the defending WNBA Champion Sacramento Monarchs 26-19 in the final period but the 15-point deficit at the start of the fourth was too large of a hole to climb out of, as the Lynx fell 74-66 Thursday night at ARCO Arena.

Rookie guard Seimone Augustus scored 14 of her game-high 31 points in the aforementioned quarter to bring her season total to 733 points - six short of Katie Smith's franchise record 739 established in 2001. Augustus also tallied 30+ points for the sixth time this season, breaking Smith's club record of five in 2001. Only former Houston Comet Cynthia Cooper (eight, 1997) and Phoenix's Diana Taurasi (eight and counting, 2006) have scored 30+ points more often in one WNBA season.

Sacramento was led by Yolanda Griffith with 18 points, followed by Kara Lawson with 14 and DeMya Walker with 12.

NEXT GAME

Minnesota at Los Angeles - Sunday, Aug. 13, at Staples Center (8:30 p.m.)

The Minnesota Lynx will close out their season against the top team in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Sparks. The teams split their first two meetings this season. The Lynx won in record-setting fashion on May 21 114-71, but the Sparks exacted their revenge on July 16, winning 90-78. Lisa Leslie is having an MVP-quality season for the Sparks, averaging 19.9 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. Los Angeles leads the all-time series between the teams 21-5.

LYNX WATCH PARTY

The Lynx will hold their final watch party of the 2006 season Sunday night (Aug. 13) at the Naismith Lounge in Target Center's NBA City Restaurant. Festivities include the Lynx/Los Angeles game on 35 TV's, 2 for 1 on all drinks and half priced appetizers throughout the game. Also, fans will get the chance to win Lynx merchandise, courtside Lynx tickets and NBA City gift certificates.

RADIO BROADCAST

Sunday night's game can be heard on the radio home of the Lynx on BOB 106 with Brian Sieman calling the action.
