The Detroit Shock doesn't need to understand the opposition to dominate it.
Facing the WNBA's worst team Thursday, the Shock pounded the Chicago Sky for the second time in less than a week, this time, 82-48, at the Palace.
Chicago tried to milk the shot clock on every possession early in the game. Detroit (22-10) turned that into a 26-0 second-quarter run, ripping open what was a three-point game after the first quarter.
"I didn't understand their game plan," Shock coach Bill Laimbeer said. "The way we could read their game plan on offense was hold the ball until there was eight seconds on the shot clock and go one-on-one, then go back into a passive 2-3 zone (on defense). And we took advantage of it."
The Shock hit a franchise-record 11 three-pointers, including four by guard Deanna Nolan, who finished with 22 points.
