AUBURN HILLS -- The Detroit Shock are one game closer to securing home-court advantage for the Eastern Conference playoffs after they defeated the Chicago Sky, 82-48, at The Palace on Thursday.
But that goal might be more difficult if they are without forward Cheryl Ford for tonight's game against the Washington Mystics.
Ford left Thursday's game -- and didn't return -- after spraining her left hand with 3:59 left in the first quarter. She is listed as day-to-day. Ford is the Shock's leading scorer and rebounder, averaging 14.4 points and 11.7 rebounds.
"I'm good," said Ford when asked how her hand felt after the game. She nodded and said "yup" when asked if she would play tonight.
