AUBURN HILLS -- The Shock looked at Sunday's game against Eastern Conference-leading Connecticut as a must-win.
They needed a victory to clinch the No. 2 seed and home-court advantage for the first round of the WNBA playoffs.
Mission accomplished.
The Shock defeated the Sun, 88-65, at The Palace before 11,558 to hold off Indiana for the No. 2 seed.
They will travel to Indiana (21-13) for the first game of the best-of-three series Thursday.
