Re: Orton suspended 60 days

And he lasted what? Like 3 years or something? Had like what, 8 fights or something?

He's not there anymore, and got embarrassed in his last fights. Lets call a spade a spade, he was a joke in the UFC. He had the industries best knockout power and that was it. His wrestling wasn't even good.

No, Kimbo Slice was a joke in the UFC. Brock Lesnar was a champion who beat guys like Randy Couture and Frank Mir, and was not only the first guy to go past the first round against Shawn Carwin, but was also the first person to beat him. Was Brock Lesnar a incredible fighter? No. I won't even go as far as saying that he was a good one, because in my opinion he wasn't, but given what he was able to accomplish in the UFC, compared to what other hyped fighters normally do when they go into the UFC, Brock's UFC run was a huge success. He had less experience then most of the guys he faced, he still manages to win the title, and he manages to beat some of the best heavyweights in the UFC at the time.

Randy Couture? He was like 58 years old in that fight. Frank Mir even being a guy anyone would bring up speaks to how bad the division truly is.

He won the belt based on his vicious knockout power. Then people picked up on his game and realized all they had to do was keep some distance and wind him since he has dick all for stamina.

He did ok in the UFC I guess. I just don't like it when people try to make it a feather in his cap. He came to the UFC a WWE phony, ran his mouth and talked shit like he was still working for the WWE, and ended up leaving like a chump at the end. He doesn't have much to hold his head high about.

Re: Orton suspended 60 days

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was an amazing run he had. But a failure? No. He was the heavyweight champion.

Randy Orton's future with WWE is uncertain following their announcement Wednesday that he was being suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the Talent Wellness Program. SuperLuchas.net reports the SmackDown wrestler met with Chairman Vince McMahon, Executive Vice President of Talent and Live Events Paul Levesque and Executive Vice President of Television Production Kevin Dunn at the organization's headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut on Friday to discuss his future with the organization.

A WWE source described the meeting's atmosphere as "hostile;" it was determined that a further decision concerning Orton awaits. The report adds there are "several" officials lobbying for his termination as a cost-cutting measure. They feel his lucrative ten-year contract—signed in January 2010—can no longer be justified if he is brought back in a mid-level role. His second suspension hinders WWE from continuing to feature Orton in headline role since a third drug-testing policy infraction would result in automatic termination.

McMahon is especially infuriated with Orton, who felt he had matured in recent years. The nine-time world champion's suspension reportedly stems from a positive drug test for the anabolic steroid Dianabol, which is banned by the United States Congress under its Controlled Substances Act. He also reportedly tested positive for marijuana, which is subject to a $2,500 fine.

Randy Orton's future is as uncertain as it has ever been in the WWE, and it appears there is a minority who thinks he should be let go.

A "small, vocal pocket" has been pushing for the former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion's termination. Orton used to be considered neck-and-neck with CM Punk as the second highest babyface in the company behind John Cena, but Punk has since taken that spot all on his own within WWE's inner power circle.

Despite the lack of star power currently on the Smackdown roster, Vince McMahon is said to be considering dismissing Orton. Many in the company who agree with this move feel that with wrestlers like Sheamus, Sin Cara, Christian, a soon-to-be-returning Rey Mysterio and, if a switch is needed, Daniel Bryan, they would be just fine without Orton's presence.

Former WCW announcer Mark Madden gave his thoughts on his Twitter account as well: "WWE wants to get rid of Orton PERMANENTLY. Character and popularity have plateaued, and he’s a pain to deal with."

I can't believe I'm saying this but I really hope they dont let him go. I really enjoyed his work as a heel and believe he could easily be the #1 heel in the company.

Re: Orton suspended 60 days

I haven't really been following WWE in recent years but it's hard to imagine them wanting to get rid of Orton.
