Sammartino's induction has been in the works for many years, with Sammartino himself denying the honor both publicly and privately several times. Since the 1980's, Sammartino has been an outspoken critic of the WWE and it's boss/mastermind Vince McMahon. The two parties had a falling out in the 80's but WWE Chief Operating Officer Hunter Hearst Helmsley (Triple H) has reportedly been pursuing Bruno to accept his rightful place in WWE's Hall of Fame for months. There have been several reports noting Sammartino has agreed to the induction with several specific precautions which may or may not include him having no interaction with Vince McMahon in anyway during the day of the induction.

Sammartino was widely considered the biggest star in Pro Wrestling during the 60's and 70's. He holds the s untouched record of being the longest-reigning WWE Champion of all time, holding the title a total of 11 years over two different title reigns.

Sammartino's induction at MSG is particularly sentimental as he's widely credited with developing the New York market for Vince McMahon Sr's WWWF prior to the Vince McMahon Jr's WWF/WWE "Rock'n Wrestling" boom period of the 80's. It is currently unknown who will induct Bruno, but it is surely going to be emotional evening for fans of the Italian Superman.

Dont forget Trish. People might hate Women's Wrestling but Trish did so much for the WWE and for females in Wrestling

It's good Sammartino decided to change his mind. I was reading an article where HHH called him up & pretty much convinced him to be inducted. Citing that the WWE is no longer the "Attitude Era" that Sammartino hated with it's "raunchy language & tits/ass" it had. So he told Sammartino to watch some of the current product & that convinced him that it's back to the way it was before the Attitude Era started. Therefore the WWE is no longer "bad", all is forgiven & Sammartino gets inducted.

Why's that funny? Is this some sorta knock to discredit Trish's induction into the Hall of Fame? I mean really? Cuz you know there's guys in there like William "Refrigerator" Perry & Pete ****ing Rose, right?

Plus, Trish did an awful lot for Women's wrestling over the past decade or so. She was fun to watch and went from being strictly eye candy to actually really working her ass off in the ring & being a good women's wrestler!

So yeah. I guess I don't get your comment.

Not discrediting Trish as a wrestler or her induction into the HOF. Just meant it was funny that Bruno refused induction because of his dislike of the attitude era and T and A as your previous post states. And the year he changes his mind he gets inducted with Trish Stratus.

Trish was a great innovator for women's wrestling and deserves her induction. Guess I have a strange sense of humour.
