Re: UVM New Arena Thread

FWIW my son's AAU team plays in a nicer gym than Patrick at a prep school near me. There's even a practice court/practice facility in addition to the main court.

He's in 2nd Grade.

Whether you want to believe it's a glorified high school gym or not really wasn't what I was getting after. It was more the language that surrounds it as it and "worst facility in D1" are often lumped together, and it leads to the complete lack of prospective a majority of UVM fans (and very clearly fans of other teams here) have when it comes to what is considered a D1 facility. People seriously just need to take a look around. There's more Patrick Gym-like facilities among low-major schools than people realize. I'm sure you understand this, but I felt I needed to clarify it.

Also, Stevie Skyler...off the top of my head places I've stepped foot in: Drexel, Marist, Jacksonville, Sacred Heart, Cal State Northridge, Dartmouth, Lowell. All I'd say are categorically worse than Patrick Gym. Plenty more near to it or also worst. Whether you're looking to take it seriously, I'd advise you take a look at facilities across the NEC, Patriot League, MAAC, MEAC, ASUN, and some of the CAA, just on the eastern seaboard.

Nice to see you behave the way you do without knowing the context of my post...instead of asking you fly off the handle. Embarrassing on your part but it's probably time for early bird special so you're cranky...don't forget soak your dentures...

LMAO

Yeah, "LOL!" is a whole lot of context. Enlighten me, boychik. What was this context you were after? To me, it seems a lot like trolling because you really had nothing meaningful to contribute to the nuanced conversation plenty of us were having here. Not the first time for you either, so I gave it right back and that's flying off the handle? Please. Do better.

I was simply enjoying you taking your fellow UVM fans to task, like you normally do considering you are always the smartest guy in the room or at least reads that way when you get up on your soap box. Hence the LOL...

Carry on...LOL

P.S. I don't know who boychick is but if we are doing cute feminine names...I dub you "pussy" as in pussycat

Okay. Thanks for clarifying that. You do see how it'd be easy to interpret that very differently, I hope? It certainly seemed like you were LOLing *at* what I wrote not *with* it. Might wanna just add more than that next time.

Also, sounds like someone should go speak to their local Rabbi about what Boychik means. https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/boychik

I see it...perhaps could have been more clear.

XOXO and LOL on boychick...never heard that before.

Half related I've built a little standings page on my site that lets you see schedules/matchups based on conferences and shows you the capacity of venues for the games if you're interested. It might fill in with tv schedules down the road depending on the API I settle on:

Hey! Nice tool. Good thinking to aggregate the schedules.

How do you determine Smallest and Biggest games? Is it by arena capacity?

When I think of a "big" game, I think of significance. I don't know if you can get any more significant than UVM playing #1 Kansas.

Solely based on capacity of the venue at this point. It would be fun to pull polling data in and REALLY have biggest game but I haven't added polls at this point. Again it depends on the data I can get.

Totally agree. Patrick Gym can both be not the worst facility in D1 (it’s def not) and also still kinda really suck hard, in its current form (it does).

Both of these things can be true (and are), IMO.

Not the worst
Nor the oldest
Nor the smallest
