Re: Around the League

A few things:

How is losing 3 guards not a nightmare situation for ANY team, let alone a team with aspirations of improving on 3 atrocious years?? Unless those 3 players are all walk ons.....?

Two, 2-3 games? With video evidence? Man, schools are going soft now days on rape (sarcasm). If you recall, Dayton lost Pierre for half a season with ZERO evidence, let alone video....

Three, you can tell I'm all in for this year's Arch Baron cup nailbiter.

Nightmare would be losing 4 guards including their four star freshman Jordan Goodwin (Rivals 61, ESPN 58) which could have had repercussions in the 2018 class (i.e. Carte'Are Gordon decommits). That didn't happen.

If there was video and it showed a rape, I expect the players would have already been charged and kicked out of school. If the video shows consensual sex, that works in the players favor. I'm led to believe the issue at hand is the violation of privacy - which is a very serious issue and is being treated as such - hence the players being held out until the independent Title IX investigation is complete.

Ok, point two makes more sense for the 2-3 games then.

If a third party posted a non consensual video on the internet of a couple having consensual sex, what would the charge be?

That scenario (which is not necessarily what happened in this case) could be a class D felony in Missouri

https://law.justia.com/codes/missour...ction-565.253/

I don't believe the alleged sex video was posted to the Internet proper (like Gawker publishing the Hulk Hogan sex video). I don't know who shared the video or who it was shared with. For all I know it was a very short video shared by 1 individual with 1 other individual and promptly deleted. My read is that the fear of any video becoming public is what sparked the women to go to the police. All we really know is that something happened which caused 3 women to feel violated to the point of going to the police station in the middle of the night to report the incident.

The independent Title IX investigation exists to ensure the University's own biases don't muck things up one way or the other. The players have highly regarded attorneys representing them. A lot has changed since the 2010 case involving Kwamain Mitchell where everything was decided in a kangaroo student court where the accuser was allowed a lawyer while the accused had to represent themselves.

A much needed change btw. Think of the careers that got screwed up over this nonsense. Dez Wells, Pierre, Mitchell, ect ect. About time common sense finally ruled the day. Enough media attention has finally brought light to these situations and exposed Title IX for the fraud that it is.

This is quite an exaggeration.

FWIW. Dayton's Josh Cunningham and Davidson's Jon Axel Gudmundsson named A-10 Players of the Week.

Wake sucks so their losing should surprise no one. The p5 schools suck their own wangs and think they're cooler for it.

Yeah, his Fortune 500 company and other repetitive sayings are annoying.

By the way, I am not saying Liberty is good but they did smack Wake. So did Ga Southern so they are 0-2

Nope. I do not think a A10 team plays them but I know that UR plays Wake.
