Re: Around the League

Dayton's Anthony Grant along with Danny Manning of Wake Forest have been named as assistants to Bill Self for this year's USA U18 Basketball Team. Flyer fans hoping this helps with recruiting. Be great for UD and the A-10, if Grant could parlay this into a H&H with Kansas and Wake Forest.

Why not, right? Gets to stay in NE. Doesn't have to put up 75% of the season he put up in the A10 and you get in from the AAC. I hope this isn't the case but I wouldn't blame him for going.

It would be about $ not conference. The AAC got three teams in and they are now out. Not buying that conference as great shakes. Now Gary Parrish is weighing in. Does not sound good for Rhody. If he leaves then the hire is important to retain Dowtin, Russell, Langevine and their 2018 class. A bunch will leave though. I am all too familiar with it. It becomes a piece it together operation once the floodgates open. It sucks.

UConn has won 2 or 3 national championships in recent memory. That type of pedigree is hard to pass up.

Yes, with a miserable bastard of a HoF coach who cheated, and then by a former player who took that guys players and won before the stench of their new conference eliminated their "pedigree."

Re: Around the League

The AAC is not going to help a past pedigree. They do have $ to throw around though.

While UConn would/will probably be one of the schools to get a P5 call, the AAC is walking a really fine line as it pertains to being poached and losing a big chunk of that cash flow. UConn, Memphis, Cincinnati, Houston, UCF, and USF are all actively looking to upgrade leagues.

True and you can bet they are selling Hurley on a conference move. All the schools you mentioned hate the AAC.

This is why I was confounded by the long term logic behind Wichita State's AAC move. Wouldn't the Mountain West make more sense? If Gonzaga makes that move, WSU would probably be wise to join them as a non-football member.
