I like the idea of tall wings flying around the court. If they get a commitment from Brown-Jones I am for that. Personally, I would rather him sign a guy like Gordon for the last spot. A deadeye shooter with good height. Look for a big man or big men in 2021 or in the offseason if someone leaves. Get a transfer or JUCO then. Silva, Douglas and Ward can handle things for now.

I agree, I'm not too hung up on positions or filling certain spots; Rhoades seems to know what he's doing. I'm more concerned about the class size, but Rhoades knows what he's doing there, too.

Re: Around the League

Unless Duke or a select few other names are on the front of the jersey, I don't think its a good idea to bring in five first year players unless you think the recruits will be better then five guys already on the team. I'd be inclined to hold one maybe even two for a transfer, late de-commit or even to carry one over if you feel good about some recruits in 21 class. Most coaches don't go beyond a eight or nine man rotation so you can fill out the last seat(s) on the bench with walk-ons if need be.

They might just hold that last spot. This class is a result of some recruiting classes being lost and transfers as a result of Smart and Wade leaving. Rhoades knows that this years freshman class and 2020 are really important.

How about back to back 5 man classes?

It makes no sense for your team to have uneven recruiting classes.

I'm still trying to figure out your last spot from the scholarship tree thread.
It reads as if it is open this year then open for the first time next year...
Expecting a grad transfer?

It makes perfect sense for my team not to have recruiting classes...

There are two spots open at the moment. Probably in the next hour there will be one left.

Re: Around the League

It’s not Joel Welser, but Andy Katz has his way-too-early brackets picked. Of note are:

Davidson - 7 seed
VCU - 9 seed

Under consideration (outside the first 8 out):
St. Bonaventure
Dayton

Are you sure this is not Joel? This ersatz Andy also has William & Mary in as a 14 seed. W&M, despite having one of the best players in the CAA, will probably finish towards if not at the bottom of the standings. It's true that they have a statistical probability of greater then zero of winning the conference tournament, but even if that should that happen it's doubtful they could score a 14 seed. There are also many other dubious picks in this mess, including my alma mater.

Re: Around the League

<unnecessary rant>I'm sorry I've got to take issue with 13-14 Seton Hall and Colorado. What have they done to suggest they are top 15 programs? Seton Hall was average last year and got in due to their BE record of 9-9, which upon closer inspection was terrible. Bad losses, and beat the dredges. They finished with close home W's against Nova and highly overrated Marquette, who was pummeled by #12 MuSU in NCAA round 1. SHU was also bounced R1. Colorado has almost zero pedigree, played well in the NIT last season, and I could see being a chic pick for T25.

I know it's early to be yelling at the clouds, but this is the kind of stuff that cements "image". Pac12 blows. Don't put CU high up to try and convince me otherwise. BE is in their inevitable fallback. SHU is not a T15 team yesterday, today, or tomorrow. It's not 19-F-88.</unnecessary rant>

Mainly I'm just bored today.
