Re: 2015-16 A-10 Mid-Season Awards

I think we're going to have to make room for Jaire Grayer (Mason) on the all-rookie team as well. He went ice cold in December and got forgotten a little bit, but he's been just as impressive as Livingston, and with Marquise Moore out, those two are going to get 35+ minutes a night moving forward.

Yes. It is a very small sample size. That took place on your floor. While Davidson had three starters out with injury.

Gibbs seems a little ball-hoggy to me
Dude is averaging 4.9 assists a game. .1 less than Adams.

I like Adams a lot, but Gibbs is better.

Three?

You just started Reigel against Duquesne, he came off the bench against us. Sullivan was out. And you had to start Jordan Watkins who only scored 23!

That win doesn't look so good anymore, since you were only at 40%.

Gibbs is real good, I hear ya. I think Adams is more efficient offensively. But Gibbs does flat out score buckets.

Re: 2015-16 A-10 Mid-Season Awards

Our intended starting lineup for this year was:

Gibbs
Sullivan
Barham
Aldridge
Belford

Our starting linuep for Bonna was:
Gibbs
Watkins
Michelson
Aldridge
Ekwu

I'm not discounting your victory, just offering an explanation for why Gibbs wasn't as good in that game. He was trying to do too much. He still does, from time to time. He's still better than Adams.

I don't see any one guard as obviously better than the others. It's probably more accurate to put them into tiers. Adams, Gibbs, Smith, and Lewis are all in that top tier of PGs. One could make a case for Garrett, too.

I have no interest in the Gibbs vs. Adams pissing match, but I am curious if you Davidson folks ever feel that Gibbs might feel some pressure to be like Steph?

Yes. It's obviously an unfair comparison, but it's the one that gets made every game. Of course, it can be an inspiration too. In the game that Steph attended, Jack had 41 points in 29 minutes on 14-17 from the field. It reminded us a lot of Steph's performance when Lebron showed up. (There it is, another comparison to Steph).

I think either Wade or Martelli will get COY unless their teams falter down the stretch. Miller is very deserving but when it is expected the voters are tougher....right?

Yes I think depending on whose team finishes first, either would be a good choice.

I was just going on the fact that Dayton is ranked even though Pierre missed the first semester and probably won't have a first team all-A10 player.

Honestly, for me Paulsen is COY no matter the record. Being able to attend games without a Hewitt barf bag this season has been a joyful experience.
